As the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and other environmentally conscious societies are being developed, there is a growing demand for environmentally conscious architecture. In this major, students can study the environment and living spaces at various scales and in diverse regions, from interior design to urban planning, from nature around us to forests, based on the surrounding environment and regional characteristics. Through these studies, we aim to develop engineers with technologies who can carry out environmental regeneration and greening, architectural design, and community development in harmony with nature.

Research Introduction
We are researching how best to build designs that shape the local landscape. We are considering a "type of residence" in the Kii Peninsula that will reduce CO2 emissions, stimulate the local economy, and inherit the history and culture of the region. In the past, the "minka" was such a dwelling, but we are considering a "dwelling" that uses modern technology and is capable of conducting modern life.
?
We are examining designs to improve our surrounding environment, and the community. By listening to the voices of people in the community, we are researching planned responses to a society with a declining population, such as the utilization of vacant lots and houses, how local communities should be involved, and the relationship between urban and rural areas. Sometimes we step out into the city to observe people's behavior and to try experiments into practice.
