The Department of Systems Engineering in the Faculty of Systems Engineering has three divisions:
Applied Science and Engineering, Environmental Design Studies, and Informatics.
Applied Science and Engineering Division
The Applied Science and Engineering Division consists of “Robotics Major”, “Electronics and Applied Physics Major”, and “Chemistry Major”.
Students will acquire a wide range of knowledge and skills in the design and control of mechanical and electronic devices, and in the functions and development methods of materials and substances. They will acquire the flexible adaptability and creativity to develop cutting-edge hardware such as robots, and to create chemical and electronic materials with low environmental impact and high functionality.

Environmental Design Studies Division
The Environmental Design Studies Division consists of “Environmental Science Major” and “Architecture and Landscape Major”.
Students can acquire knowledge and skills related to environmental issues and natural disasters, such as, design and engineering, planning, structure and construction, natural regeneration and greening, and cities and regions. The division also provides for students to acquire the applied skills and creativity to support for solving environmental and other issues. Through these studies, students can acquire a cross-disciplinary perspective and specialized knowledge and skills that can contribute to the creation of a sustainable society, and development of human resources who can be active in private companies and public institutions both in Japan and abroad.

Informatics Division
The Informatics Division consists of “Information Systems Design Major”, “Network Computing Major”, and “Extended Reality / Information Design Major”.
Students acquire intelligent information technologies necessary to support and develop an advanced digital society. After learning the fundamentals of general information-related technologies such as programming, data processing, machine learning, computer architecture, and operating systems, students choose a major to study more advanced and specialized technologies such as information systems, network computing, or information design to acquire practical skills applicable to society. We foster specialists in informatics and engineering with a global perspective and deep expertise.
